After leaving Austin at 8 AM CDT, I finally landed in Honolulu at 3 PM HST. While the unseasonably dry heat wave continued unabated in central Texas, I was feeling cool Tradewinds through my hair again. A short bus ride later and I was checked into the Hawaii Prince hotel, formerly known as Kaiser Medical Center, where my younger brother was born. The view from the top floor of the hotel was pretty good, though my room faced more Ewa, so I could not see Diamond Head.
