Participants were treated to presentations by Mazda employees involved in the development of rotary engine and Rx-7, Takaharu "Koby" Kobayakawa and K. Takata. Classic & contemporary rotary race cars were also on display, as well as the "mechanical mule" used for development of the upcoming Rx-8. Unfortunately, the Rx-8's were kept hidden until the official debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2003.
