SevenStock 5, 28 Sept 2002

These pictures were taken on 28 Sept 2002 at Mazda's Irvine Development Center. Over 500 rotary vehicles made the trip from around the country and Canada. So many Rx-7's and other rotary vehicles crowded to get in that many ended up parked out on the street and in overflow lots.

Participants were treated to presentations by Mazda employees involved in the development of rotary engine and Rx-7, Takaharu "Koby" Kobayakawa and K. Takata. Classic & contemporary rotary race cars were also on display, as well as the "mechanical mule" used for development of the upcoming Rx-8. Unfortunately, the Rx-8's were kept hidden until the official debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2003.

Each image is stored at multiple resolutions; clicking on an image will bring up an image with twice the resolution. These images were captured with a DCS 560 camera using a Canon EOS 24-105mm lens.
